On the collection

There are contracts we write alone. In our own heads, our own hearts — terms the other party never agreed to, obligations that were never signed, verdicts delivered in absentia. No court issued them. No one else knows they exist. You enforced them anyway.

BOUND names this. Not as accusation. As recognition. NO MASTERS arrives with its fists up — and then the third line arrives and does something the first two can't. That's the collection. The space where the rules you live by are examined and found to be self-authored. Not freeing, necessarily. Just the specific clarity that comes from looking directly at something you've been pretending not to see.

The defiance is real. So is the awareness of how easily defiance becomes its own kind of performance.

Bound

The ground is white. Violet-purple wash forms move through the center — large, crossed, unresolved. Burgundy marks cut through them. In the upper register, compressed black calligraphic energy: nervous, layered, going somewhere that doesn't arrive. At center-right, two small color incidents that have no business being as loaded as they are — blue holding something pink, yellow holding something red.

The sentence takes the full piece to finish. The space between the first line and the last two — that's where everything happens.

No Masters

White ground. Gray-white forms, loose and almost atmospheric — the suggestion of something structural that never fully commits. Then cadmium red at center, placed with deliberate pressure. Not gestural. Not accidental. There. The marks in that red are hands, or close enough to it. The gray holds the red. The red holds its position.

The first two lines are a position. The third line knows it — and says so anyway, which is the only honest move. You can't write No Gods, No Masters without knowing how many people have written it before you. The third line is the piece admitting that. It doesn't undercut the conviction. It completes it.

Both pieces.
One argument.

BOUND and NO MASTERS were made together and are offered together. The pair is the complete work — one piece names the trap, the other refuses it, and the third line in NO MASTERS keeps both honest. Individual acquisition is available. But the collector who takes one will know the other exists.
